Aconteceu neste domingo (23), o Billboard Music Awards 2021, no Microsoft Theater em Los Angeles, Estados Unidos. O evento teve Nick Jonas como o anfitrião, The Weeknd (o recordista de indicações em 16 categorias) como um dos grandes destaques da noite levando a melhor em 10 e ainda a premiação que homenageou Drake com o troféu de Artista da Década.
Drake recebeu o prêmio após uma série de conquistas nas últimas edições da premiação. O cantor rege os Top Artistas da parada da Billboard de 2010. Além disso, ele traz como bagagem os melhores desempenhos da década, segundo a parada de músicas da Billboard Hot 100 e a contagem de álbuns da Billboard 200.
Ele também é o dono do título de maior vencedor de Billboard Music Awars, com 27 estatuetas. Apenas no ano de 2019, o cantor atingiu a marca impressionante de vencedor de 12 categorias.
A premiação realizada pela revista Billboard teve a performance de diversos nomes da música. As atrações incluiram nomes como: Jonas Brothers, BTS, The Weeknd, P!nk, Bad Bunny, Doja Cat, SZA, Karol G, Twenty One Pilots, Alicia Keys, H.E.R., DJ Khaled, Migos, Glass Animals, AJR, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis e a banda Duran Duran.
