Box Logo da Supreme x Virgil Abloh MCA Chicago é Listada por U$ 10.000

Uma t-shirt box logo (talvez uma das mais raras já criadas) a qual não chegou a ser lançada, foi precificada no valor de U$ 10.000 na loja belga de resell Duke's Archive.

In June 2019, Virgil Abloh debuted his “Figures of Speech” Gallery in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. This marked the first museum exhibition for the Louis Vuitton Creative Director. Abloh was raised in Chicago by parents who emigrated from Ghana. Virgil cultivated a deep interest in music, fashion and design. In 2013, he designed the album cover for the Kanye West “Yeezus” project. Joining a young collective of creatives who quickly emerged as multi disciplinary artists. In 2018, Abloh was rewarded the job at Louis Vuitton as head Creative Director. The exhibition reflects on both Virgils personal experience and creatons, and the global evolution of street culture among various fields. Arguably the most talked about attraction is the picture of Chicago music icon Chief Keef wearing an unknown, unreleased Supreme Box Logo. On the image, we see Chief Keef holding up his jewellery while rocking the “MCA Box Logo”. The colours red,black and green on the Supreme logo represent the Pan-African Flag. The flag was designed to represent people of the African Diaspora and to symbolize black freedom. The image of Chief Keef is very powerful because it symbolises a moment in time where a kid of immigrants is the head creative director of Louis Vuitton and hosts his own exhibition in the MCA. Chief Keef, one of the most influential artists of the last decade - and the pioneer of Chicago Drill Music. The Pan-African flag, and Virgils creations all come together in this exhibition. The t-shirt was never released and will never come out. A camisa foi vista pela primeira vez na exposição de Virgil Abloh, "Figures of Speech", realizada no Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Chicago. A bogo apresenta a clássica logo da marca nova iorquina de skate em uma possível interpretação da bandeira pan-africana, também conhecida como bandeira afro-americana e de libertação negra, criada em 1920 por membros da UNIA. Para vestí-la, o personagem escolhido foi o rapper de Chicago Chief Kieef.

A camiseta listada no Duke's Archive é rotulada como um "segundo teste de impressão", que foi feito antes do cancelamento de uma produção ampla da camiseta, tornando isso extremamente raro, pois nunca foi concretizada uma colaboração Virgil Abloh x Supreme.
